As I write this report, there is one more meeting for the Spring 2010 ISACA Silicon Valley CISA® and CISM® classes: the practice test. Over the past two months students have been studying for the June 2010 CISA and CISM exams. They will be very glad when this difficult task is over, as will I.
I have been the ISACA Silicon Valley Certification Director for the past two years, and, due to the chapter policy of job rotation, I have timed out and must leave this position to someone else. It has been a lot of work, but all the people who have passed made it worthwhile. I would especially like to thank the Fall 2009 CISM class, in which all 9 of 9 students managed to pass! According to Dr. Schultz, a 100% pass rate has only occurred one other time in the whole worldwide history of the CISM exam. Will the CISA or CISM class repeat this record? I certainly hope so! I would like to acknowledge and thank the instructors for the Spring 2010 CISA and CISM classes:
- CISA: Jay Swarminathan, Robin Basham,Linda Wright, Steve Swenson, Tom Hammer and Jeff Fenton.
- CISM: Steve Swenson, Anshu Gupta, GeneSchultz (2 domains!) and myself.
I would also like to thank Mike Jordan and Sixto Bernal for helping with class logistics. Mike will be running for my current position as Certification Director, and Sixto is the incumbent for the Membership Director position -- I know they would appreciate your votes.
Last, but not least, a very special thank you to to Eric Crutchlow and SonicWall for providing classrooms and an incentive prize for top score.
Please come to the ISACA Silicon Valley June Annual General Meeting to meet these students and instructors.
Thank you!
Greg Edwards
